Oath expressions in hadiths: forms and meanings in Sharia

Abstract
In the Holy Quran, an oath is used to convey the meaning and importance of what is said. In Arabic, it has a special meaning because it is associated with the name of Allah or one of His attributes. It is forbidden to take an oath that is not related to the name of Allah. The author explores the special rhetorical style of the oath, characteristic of the Arabic language. He characterizes the various forms of oaths and analyzes their
meaning.
